Pipeline Infrastructure Improvements Update

Dominion Energy Ohio Gas Pipeline Infrastructure Replacement Project – PIR 2718
West 20th Street & Abbey Avenue
(City of Cleveland – Ward 3)

CLEVELAND – On Monday, April 15, 2019 Dominion Energy Ohio’s gas pipeline infrastructure replacement project will begin on the following streets:

    • West 20th Street – From Moore Court to 2267 West 20th Street.
    • West 19th Street – From 1980 West 19th Street to Smith Court.
    • West 18th Street – From Lorain Avenue to Smith Court.
    • West 17th Street – From Lorain Avenue to Bradford Avenue.
    • Moore Court – From Columbus Avenue to West 20th Street.
    • Lorain Avenue – From West 20th Street to West 17th Street.
    • Bradford Avenue - From West 18th Street to West 17th Street.
    • Smith Court – From West 20th Place to West 18th Street.
    • Abbey Avenue – From Columbus Avenue to West 19th Street.
    • Freeman Avenue – From Columbus Avenue to West 19th Street.

Improvements include replacing the old steel mainline with a new plastic mainline in the sidewalk area. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times on side streets within the project limits with traffic control personnel directing traffic flow. A Law Enforcement Officer will be present at all signalized intersections. For work on Lorain Avenue, at least one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction through the work zone at all times. 

Access to adjacent driveways will be maintained throughout construction. All work zones will be removed at the end of each work day. The work on the project will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This project is scheduled for completion in September 2019.
