A Back-to-School Fair Will Also Be Held in Partnership with CMSD

CLEVELAND – Mayor Frank G. Jackson’s 12th Annual Youth Summit will be held Aug. 4 in Cleveland Public Auditorium. Kids and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend this back-to-school event held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Doors open at 8 a.m.

“Each year, we host students and parents at the Mayor’s Youth Summit to equip attendees with tools to make the upcoming school year a success,” said Mayor Frank G. Jackson. “It’s an opportunity for kids of all ages and grade levels and their parents to connect with resources that will help them have a safe and productive year.”

The event – held in partnership with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) - will include 65 exhibitors from city departments, community organizations, non-profits, regional agencies and more. In addition, there will be 20 workshops offered in English and Spanish.

There will also be live music, performances by CMSD cheerleaders and other entertainment. Grade-appropriate school supplies will be given to students in attendance. The Cleveland Department of Public Health will also be on hand to conduct lead testing.

Last year, more than 3,000 people attended the highly anticipated event. It is free and open to the public.
