Expect additional traffic notices as work progresses

CLEVELAND – Carter Road improvements will begin on Monday, November 13, 2017. Carter Road will close to all traffic between the Carter Road Lift Bridge and Scranton Road to allow for removal of the existing pavement, drainage work, and pavement replacement. Local traffic on Scranton Road will be maintained by using the single-lane road for two-way operation.

Motorists should remain alert for construction vehicles, flaggers, barrels and other related activities in the construction zone. This change will remain in place through mid-December 2017. Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  This change will remain in place through mid-December 2017.

This work is part of the ongoing road improvements and upgrades along Scranton and Carter Roads between Fairfield Ave and Columbus Rd. The improvements include new concrete pavement, drive aprons, curbs and walks; ADA compliant curb ramps; new drainage facilities; new striping and signs. This project is scheduled for completion in December 2017.

For questions, contact the City’s Chief Construction Inspector, Ms. Traci Hartnett-Mercado at (216) 244-5636.

Editor’s Note: Road construction invariably presents hazards to the public. All travelers are urged to use caution in construction zones. Public safety and the safety of workers is a top priority.
