Mayor Jackson Congratulates Notable Cleveland Journalists Leon Bibb and Lee Jordan on their Retirement

CLEVELAND – Mayor Frank G. Jackson today released a statement congratulating longtime journalists Leon Bibb and Lee Jordan on their retirement:  

Leon Bibb

“Congratulations to Mr. Leon Bibb on his retirement after more than 40 years in television and print journalism most of which was here in Cleveland. Mr. Bibb is a legend in broadcasting and he provided a style that made his reporting uniquely Cleveland. Mr. Bibb was a trend-setter who blazed a new trail for African-Americans in the field of journalism. He is a consummate professional and his work has truly made a significant impact on Cleveland. His many accomplishments are commendable and his retirement is well-deserved. I encourage all citizens of Cleveland to join me in congratulating Mr. Bibb on his retirement, thanking him for his military service, his many contributions to our city and wishing him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Her hard work and dedication in preparing her news stories conveyed to her viewers that no matter what the issue it was important to report with heart and conviction. The City of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio are better because of her commitment to excellence. I ask that all Clevelanders join me in wishing her well in her retirement.”
